Trump Assures King Visit Is Safe, Says Assassination Attempts Are “Mostly Just for Show”
Former president Donald Trump has reportedly moved to reassure King Charles III ahead of his planned visit to the United States, insisting that the country remains “incredibly safe” despite what he described as a series of “very high-quality, very convincing” assassination attempts.
Speaking from what aides confirmed was a “completely secure and not at all dramatic” location, Trump explained that any recent threats had been “hugely exaggerated” and, in some cases, “entirely fabricated for ratings.”
“We fake a lot of them,” he said, helpfully. “Not all—some are real, maybe—but the fake ones are tremendous. Very believable. People are saying they’ve never seen better.”
The comments are believed to have been intended to calm concerns surrounding the King’s upcoming trip, which is expected to include ceremonial engagements, diplomatic meetings and, sources suggest, a brief but thorough risk assessment of what exactly Trump meant by “we fake a lot of them.”
Buckingham Palace has so far declined to comment directly, though insiders indicated that officials were “seeking clarification” on whether the former president’s remarks were intended as reassurance or a confession.
Security experts, meanwhile, have described the statement as “unorthodox,” noting that most world leaders tend to emphasise robust protective measures rather than claiming the threats themselves are part of a broader entertainment strategy.
Trump, however, remained upbeat. “Nobody does safety like us,” he added. “If there is danger, we handle it. If there isn’t, we create something even better. It’s called showmanship.”
At the time of writing, palace aides were said to be quietly updating the King’s travel briefing, with one reportedly asking whether “opting for a nice, quiet engagement in Norfolk” might ultimately prove the safer choice.
