Tomorrowland announces first-ever China event with immersive indoor show in Shanghai
Tomorrowland, one of the world’s biggest festival brands, is heading to China for the first time this winter, with an all-new indoor edition planned for Shanghai’s Hero Dome on Saturday, 22nd November.
The Magic of Tomorrowland promises an immersive experience that combines music, innovation, and storytelling under one roof. While the DJ line-up remains under wraps for now, organisers have confirmed that fans can expect big-name acts, cutting-edge visuals and all the signature stagecraft Tomorrowland is known for — reimagined for a new audience.
Centred around the theme Paperworld, the debut China event invites visitors into a space where “imagination, sound, and technology come to life.” Hero Esports has joined as a key partner, with plans to transform the Hero Dome — located in the Huangpu district near the Bund — into an intimate, high-impact festival environment.
“This won’t be a traditional outdoor festival,” said Clinton Lau, head of music festivals at Hero Esports. “This will be a fully immersive indoor show, designed to create intimacy, intensity, and impact — no matter the weather or the world outside.”

Tomorrowland International CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers called the Shanghai debut a milestone for the festival brand: “China has an incredibly dynamic and fast-evolving music and nightlife scene. There’s a growing appetite for meaningful experiences — and that’s exactly what Tomorrowland stands for.”
The event is being delivered in collaboration with local partners Hero Esports, INS Land, and Budweiser. Tickets and the full artist line-up for The Magic of Tomorrowland are expected to be announced in September.
The news comes as Tomorrowland continues its global expansion plans. Last month, reports suggested that Tomorrowland Thailand 2026 is “closer to reality” following talks between Thailand’s Prime Minister and Vanwelsenaers. Meanwhile, the festival’s flagship Belgian edition — recently voted the world’s No.1 festival in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals poll — returns for its 19th outing this July, spread across two weekends in Boom.
More information on Tomorrowland Shanghai can be found on the festival’s official site. Stay tuned for line-up and ticket updates in the coming weeks.
