Four Tet, Orbital, Deftones and more collaborate on The Cure’s remix album

The Cure have unveiled a new remix album titled Mixes of a Lost World, set to drop on June 13. This reimagined version of Songs of a Lost World features an impressive lineup of artists, including Chino Moreno of Deftones, Trentemøller, Mogwai, Orbital, the Twilight Sad, Daniel Avery, Mura Masa, Âme, Shanti Celeste, and more.

For now you can now listen to two tracks from the album: Four Tet’s remix of “Alone” and Paul Oakenfold’s sweeping, cinematic take on “I Can Never Say Goodbye”.

Proceeds from the album will go to War Child UK. In a statement, frontman Robert Smith shared how the project came to life: “Just after Christmas, I received a couple of unsolicited remixes of tracks from Songs of a Lost World, and I was blown away. The Cure has always had a deep connection with various styles of dance music, and I became intrigued by the idea of having the entire album reinterpreted by other artists. That curiosity led to this incredible journey through all eight songs, brought to life by 24 amazing remixers. Donating our royalties to War Child makes this release even more meaningful.”

Songs of a Lost World arrived last November, marking The Cure’s first studio album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream.
