New Album: Blondes – ‘Swisher’
By now it’s no secret that we at Prime Planet love Blondes. The dance duo’s debut album had our editor Michael positively breathless last summer, and personally I’m not one to question a man of such discerning taste. In their brand new sophomore effort – Swisher – the sounds of Sam Haar and Zach Steinman have certainly undergone an evolution of sorts. Recorded in a new studio space, the album unfolds as a series of mini-epics, focussing on process and craftsmanship to create detailed, percussive textures and immersive trance atmospherics. Melodic, vaporous synths infuse cosmic soundscapes with colour, making for an overall sonic masterpiece that won’t disappoint fans of Blondes’s self-titled debut.
In anticipation of its physical release via RVNG Intl. on August 5th, a full stream of Swisher is now available on YouTube.
