Ahead of election day – what do the papers say?

There’s nothing like an election to expose the true bias of the media.

Ahead of election day in the UK, let’s take a look at who is rooting for who – and if we can find any impartiality.

The Daily Star pushes the ousting of the Tories

The Daily Express, calls it a ‘day of reckoning’ outright swaying readers and voters by saying “we believe Labour’s unchecked power would diminish this great country of ours”.

The Mirror roots for Labour, saying, “Today you have the chance to make history – vote for change”

Moving back to the right, the Daily Mail goes to the extreme, calling on reading to vote for Farage.

Away from the tabloids, The Times reports more impartially on the reality of Labour’s track to win, citing the latest YouGov poll.

Meanwhile, the Guardian praises Starmer as “a new age of hope and opportunity”

The Telegraph makes a last-ditch attempt in encouraging voters from across society to go Tory, this time by reaching out to home owners, saying, “Shadow Minister suggests party could raise property levels on the wealthy, in leaked recording”

Now for something a little more impartial.

The Metro says it how it is: “The Nation Decides”

while the i takes on the poll statistics

and finally, probably the most reliably impartial of them all in British media these days, the Financial Times reports on Starmer’s predicted win and potentially “bleak night” ahead for the Tories

If you’re voting tomorrow, don’t forget to bring your photo ID.
