Album: Earth Trax – ‘The Sensual World’

Earth Trax’s latest album, The Sensual World, is an impeccably accurate title.

Much like his previous albums, the 11 tracks draw influence from an array of electronic genres that are underpinned by a techno pulse.

Opener ‘Metal’ wastes no time diving into a hauntingly echoed landscape that ebbs and flows with insistence. ‘Dream Pop’ is a lighter, vocal euphoria that nods to the blissful rapture of ambient melodies and rhythm-switching house-to-breakbeat basslines.

‘Nowhere’ harks back to 90s vocal-meets-hardcore-rave, ‘Dazed’ builds tense anticipation over a dub-techno pulse, and ‘Slam’ does exactly that – slam into you and won’t let go.

The Sensual World refreshingly combines dub, techno, house, rave, acid and breakbeat together both as individual elements and genre-defying hybrid tracks to create a world that is both sensory and self-contained – an entire club-night that can stand on its own.
