Introducing: Ballet School

So many of my favourite things were born in the eighties – Ferris Bueller, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Ryan Gosling, saying “nawwttt!” after every sentence – to the extent I find it hard to believe I wasn’t even alive during that decade! This is what I feel about Ballet School, that they were indeed born in the wrong era – but this definitely works for the 3-piece band. It’s no doubt that modern bands such as Summer Camp have found their own distinctive sounds through eighties influences. Ballet School’s track ‘Heartbeat Overdrive’ features manic falsetto female vocals, accompanied by energetic Madonna-Boarderline-esque beats and easy-going synths. The track is all about fun, and it succeeds in portraying that. Only time will tell if Ballet School can plià their way to the top of this ever-crowded world of synth pop.

Ballet School will be appearing on 23rd August at the Shacklewell Arms in London. Guarantee yourself entry by signing up at this here.
