As Israeli strikes rage on, Trump calls for Iran’s “unconditional surrender”
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, dismissed American pressure to surrender amid intense Israeli attacks, cautioning that any military move by the United States would bring about severe and lasting consequences.
“Those who understand Iran — its people and its history — know better than to use the language of threats. This nation does not give in,” he stated in a video. Prior to his remarks, an Iranian official had also warned that U.S. involvement could escalate into a full-scale war.
President Donald Trump called for Iran’s unconditional surrender on Tuesday, but said there was no intention to kill Iran’s leader “for now”, despite warning that US “patience is wearing thin”.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump said, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” he wrote on Truth Social. “We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now…Our patience is wearing thin.”
Over 600 people have died in Iran following a week of Israeli air missile attacks. Israel says 24 people have been killed in Iranian strikes.
As the war unfolds at an alarming pace, it’s crucial to keep in mind how the media bias sharply splits between those supporting Israel and US involvement, and which publications lean towards the support of Iranians and Palestinians – instead of providing unbiased reporting on the ongoing conflict.
