The lit-inspired return of an 8-bit ‘edutainment’ game
In a return to the ‘edutainment’ style 80s games we once knew and loved, EmilyBlaster is a computer game based around the poems of Emily Dickinson.
It is based on the version created and described in Gabrielle Zevin’s forthcoming novel, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and has been released by the book’s US publisher in celebration of its publication.
Zevin’s novel follows Sadie and Sam across a 30 year friendship, from childhood through college, city to city. The two work together to create video games, and among some of the first Sadie makes is EmilyBlaster.
