At the end of 2009, up popped a video on Youtube and, frankly, it was the best video-song combo of the year. ‘Fine’ was a collab between wonky pop genius Micachu and grime boys Brother May and Baker Trouble: a filthy, addictive, raging track that’s all impossible scuzzy guitar riffs with the guys laying vocals over it, with a video of the three of them in cheap suits, as though filmed on an old TV, with stupid props. It’s like an 80s kids TV show, after a couple of bottles of whiskey. Our peerless, wonky-genius-himself friend and collaborator Socrates Mitsios was so inspired by it he wanted to put his own spin on it, imagining where the protagonists of the video’s breakfast time throwdown would go next – to their kitsch 80s office for more mayhem is the answer…
