Filling Pieces Autumn/Winter 14
For Autumn/Winter 14, footwear label Filling Pieces introduces new models and fabrics to ever-expanding line up. Founded in 2009, the Dutch label bridges the gap between high street and high-end trainers – offering exceptional quality at affordable prices.
The latest collection is a feast for the eyes, not only from the super slick styling – how amazing do the models look? – but masterful way it walks the line from staple and statement with it’s classic and more adventurous styles.
The look book was shot by photographer Laurens Eindhoven and showcases the latest fabric innovations to the brand, including TSA woven, leather and wire woven patterns, natural and Scottish-grain leather and marbleised rubber cup soles. The collection is founded on the Filling Pieces hero designs – the Low Top, High Top, Mountain Boot and Mountain Cut Trainer and also sees the introduction of the new Era Low model, based on a classic 70s sate shoe, redesigned to a modern, clean aesthetic.
The collection as a whole is titled ‘Less is More’, a phrase from the 1855 poem “Andrea del Sarto, called ‘The Faultless Painter’” by Robert Browning. Details in the collection are subdued with embossed colour-block leathers and a more muted colour palette.
The collection is still handcrafted in Portugal in limited small runs, but the label has announced it is expanding selective availability in retailers globally.
Fillling Pieces can be found in KITH, 10 Corso Como, Colette, Harvey Nichols, the Hypebeast store or online at http://www.fillingpieces.com/
