LWE to host final weekend at Tobacco Dock in October
LWE has announced that it will no longer host club nights at London’s Tobacco Dock after a nine year collaboration.
LWE’s “last dance” weekend at Tobacco Dock will begin on 29th October with Claptone billed to headline The Masquerade. The following night, FUSE will take over for the final LWE-promoted party at the venue.
Will Harold, founder of LWE, said in a statement: “As the spiritual home of LWE, Tobacco Dock has long been an important part of our story, an incredible journey and something we’ll always look at with a real sense of achievement.
“It’s rare for a party to continue for so long in a city that is densely populated and rife with development; after nearly nine years and over 50 major events in the venue, it’s time for this particular party to come to an end. Halloween weekend 2022 will represent the final LWE events to take place at Tobacco Dock.
“Changes to the landscape for promoters in recent years, the worsening cost of living crisis and so much more, mean it’s becoming harder and harder to promote events in a venue of this size and layout, not least in terms of calls from local residents for a change of pace in the area. Leaving isn’t a decision we’ve taken lightly.”
