Introducing: Mind Enterprises

Reading over articles and interviews about the now London-based Mind Enterprises – known to others outside of his bedroom studio by his birth name, Andrea Tirone – it’s hard not to gather the impression that he’s possibly a pretty… “interesting” character, to say the least. Where to start? Originally birthing his music in his hometown of cheerful Turin on a diet of The Beatles and Nirvana, it’s clear that one has to dig pretty deep to find these influences within his music. His tracks at first listen sound more like if Youth Lagoon had been prescribed Prozac and sent to celebrate Mardi Gras – upbeat, but with a little underlying repressed emotion. This is what makes Tirone’s music, like him, “interesting”. In his song ‘My Girl’, he combines hot-flashing menopausal synths, interlaced with reverb-immersed vocals weaving in and out between consciously-abrupt sampling. On paper, it all sounds like it would get a little messy, but it’s anything but! And, that shows immense skill in Tirone as a digital musician. His music is certainly unique, and as an artist is starting to prove to the world he’s a guy to be taken seriously. 100% worth a listen!

Mind Enterprises’s ‘My Girl‘ EP will be released 15th July, via Because Music. You can listen to ‘My Girl’ right here streamed from his SoundCloud.

He will also be playing a gig at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington on 16th July, and will be joined by special guests. You can download your free ticket from here.
