Introducing: JD McPherson

JD McPherson sounds like he’d be more at home on the soundtrack to your average episode of Heartbeat. There’s just no escaping that fact.

This is far from a bad thing, however, and the 50’s infused rock’n’roll this man makes is so full of joy and vibrancy that it’s sure to make even the most stoic of people flail around in fits of ecstasy (or, you know, dancing).

It really helps that JD possesses a fantastically old-school voice, which makes the whole throwback feeling of his music so great (it could quite easily have been contrived, which it thankfully isn’t), which is essential for this kind of thing.
