Depeche Mode announce first album in 5 years

Depeche Mode have announced they will release a new album early next year.

Memento Mori is the first full-length release since the passing of founding member Andy Fletcher in May.

“We started work on this project early in the pandemic,” Martin Gore said, “and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

To coincide with the album, they have announced a world tour throughout 2023.
