Burning Man unexpectedly launches ticket sale weeks before 2024 edition

In a surprising turn of events, Burning Man has announced an “unprecedented” ticket drive just weeks before its 2024 edition. Traditionally, tickets to the iconic Nevada desert gathering would be long sold out by now, often disappearing within 30 minutes of release. This year, however, standard entry tickets are still available two weeks before the event, and there’s no need to pre-register. Dubbed the “OMG Sale,” ticket prices start at $575 plus taxes, with VIP packages starting at $1,500, including drinks.

Set in the expansive, temporary metropolis of Black Rock City, Burning Man will take place from Sunday, August 25th to Monday, September 2nd, 2024. This year’s theme, “Curiouser & Curiouser,” draws inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s surrealist classic, Alice in Wonderland, promising to celebrate the bizarre, absurd, and irrational.

Marian Goodell, CEO of Burning Man Project, expressed the event’s mission in a press release: “Experiencing the awe, inspiration, creativity, and community of Burning Man in Black Rock City is the antidote to today’s societal division and polarization.”

“We are pleased to have fulfilled demand for our earlier sales and are now in a position to offer greater access as the event nears,” Goodell continued. “This ticket sale is an exciting opportunity to connect more people with Burning Man’s arts and culture.”
