Aphex Twin announces reissue and expanded vinyl

Aphex Twin’s seminal album ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’ is set to receive a long-awaited reissue, complete with an expanded edition.

The reissue, slated for release on October 4th via Warp, brings all tracks to every format for the first time, including the previously vinyl-exclusive ‘track #19’, now available for streaming below. It also introduces two additional tracks – ‘th1 [evnslower]’ and ‘Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev’ – which are making their debut on physical formats.

This limited edition 4xLP vinyl box set is notable for its premium packaging. It features a fold-out poster, a sticker sheet, and a booklet with original artwork sketches. The set comes in a hinged oak case with a bespoke copper-plated and etched Aphex Twin logo on the front, and is available for pre-order exclusively through the artist’s webstore for £299.99.

Originally released 30 years ago in 1994 when Richard D. James was in his early 20s, ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’ is considered one of his most significant releases. Following his debut, ‘Selected Ambient Works 85–92’, this album shifted towards a beatless ambient sound, reflecting his fascination with lucid dreaming and other abstract influences.
