Buildings that follow laws of physics are sexist
Urban landscapes, with their upward ‘thrusting’ buildings, necessary for maximising capacity across limited space by employing the benefit of height, are sexist.
Can you not hear, as the lift climbs its way up the top the building, the painful whispering of, “Level 32…patriarchy…Level 33…sexism…Level 34…misogyny”?
The urban design of bridges to be raised upwards to allow the passing of boats is a brazen display of disregard for the women who live in these cities. Instead, all boats should be resized and rebuilt in order to fit under the bridges. Or, we could simply remove all bridges and decide which side of the river we shall remain confined to.
And of course, there’s always the possibility of living in flatland.
