Rachel Chinouriri | Little House EP
Rachel Chinouriri’s Little House EP feels like catching up with a friend who can’t wait to spill the tea—only the tea is her love life, and she’s set it all to sparkly, emotional pop. It kicks off with Can We Talk About Isaac?, a fun, fast-paced retelling of how she met her boyfriend (yes, Isaac is real), full of vivid details and a chorus that’s more about telling your mates than being swept off your feet. It’s cheeky, catchy, and totally relatable.
The whole EP has a brighter tone than her debut album, What a Devastating Turn of Events, which she’s spoken about openly as being made during a rough patch mentally. Little House, on the other hand, sounds like it comes from a much better place—she’s falling in love, playing shows with Sabrina Carpenter, and really hitting her stride.
Tracks like 23:42 bring out her fun side, with glam-stomp rhythms and carefree “lalala”s that wouldn’t feel out of place in a Passion Pit song. Even when she slows it down, like on the more stripped-back Judas (Demo), there’s a raw honesty in her voice that pulls you in. Some lyrics are a bit clunky—like the peach metaphor in 23:42—but the emotion behind them still lands.
What really stands out is how genuine she is. Chinouriri doesn’t hide behind polished pop-star mystery—she posts openly online, writes back to fans, and shares songs that feel deeply personal. Whether she’s singing about new love on Isaac or heartbreak on Judas, there’s an openness that makes you feel like you really know her.
Little House doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s part of its charm. It’s heartfelt, a little messy, and full of big emotions—kind of like love itself. If you’ve ever wanted to gush about someone new or cry to sad girl playlists in autumn, this one’s for you.
